A blend of fruit from 4 different vineyards from the best appellations across Niagara, the 2024 Pinot Noir is the epitome of the Leaning Post style. 2024 was a warm but balanced growing season, and yields were average, making wines of exceptional concentration and acidity. This wine combines classic “P(inot)-funk” flavours of cherry, mulberry, and raspberry with candy-cane beets, earth, leaves and stone. Made in a style that is slightly more approachable than our single-vineyard Pinots, it still shows incredible depth and complexity. The palate in particular shows good fullness, density and silkiness and “Pinot-city” in the mouth with kirsch married to sugar beet wrapped in fresh basil smashed over limestones! Traces of spice lift the back end of the wonderfully long finish. The 2024 needs a lot of air, so give it a good decant before enjoying. This wine will age gracefully for 5-7 years.

The 2024 growing season was warm, with a dry, temperate and long fall resulting in grapes of elegance and power, that are fully ripe in flavour with excellent acidity. This wine is a blend of 4 different vineyards from across Niagara, although the majority is from 777 clone from Senchuk Vineyard. They were hand-picked and hand-sort on September 19th (Bock), September 21st (Hemeris), and September 22nd (Senchuk and Grimsby Hillside). Each vineyard was fermented separately, with 15% whole-cluster fruit and 85% de-stemmed. They were left to cold soak for 2 to 3 days before a spontaneous ferment started, followed by punch-downs by hand twice a day for 3 weeks. Once fermentation was finished, the wine remained on skins for 3-5 days before being gently pressed. It was then transferred to French oak barrels (20% new, 20% 1-year-old, 60% older) and aged for 14 months. The 2024 Pinot Noir was bottled in February 2026.

A blend of fruit from 3 different vineyards from the best appellations across Niagara, the 2023 Pinot Noir is the epitome of the Leaning Post style. This wine combines classic “P(inot)-funk” flavours of cherry, blackberry, and raspberry with beet root, earth, leaves and fresh potting soil.  Made in a style that is slightly more approachable than our single-vineyard Pinots, it still shows incredible depth and complexity. The incredibly supple mouthfeel, medium body and balanced acidity frame exceptional flavour intensity, leading to a long, sweeping finish the ends on a decidedly mineral and crunchy note.  This wine will age for 4 to 5 years.
