The 2019 Riesling is the epitome of what makes Bench Riesling great, with an unexpected and uncommon mouth-filling weight and texture.

Nose: The nose explodes with beautiful lemon rind, lime leaf, nectarine, nutmeg, and honeysuckle aromas.

Palate: The nose continues on the palate while adding green apple, honeycomb, cumin, white lilac, and the distinctive chalky minerality of the Twenty Mile Bench.

Finish: As the wine sweeps across the palate towards the finish, a bright green leafiness and flinty gravel appear in waves, leading to an amazing, crunchy finish.

Pairing: With a hint of sweetness, Riesling is a great match to help tame down the heat in spicy dishes like Indian, Thai, or Mexican dishes.

The cool and steady growing season experienced in 2019 was truly ideal for Riesling, allowing grapes to develop their flavour in full while still maintaining exceptional acidity.

Hand-picked and hand-sorted at an ideal time on October 20th, the Riesling was then gently whole-cluster pressed and the juice was naturally settled before a long, slow, and cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 12℃. The wine was aged on yeast lees for 7 months in concrete tanks following fermentation. The 2019 Riesling was bottled on August 5, 2020.
