The depth of this wine was structured by the warm, but not hot summer and autumn. We believe this is the best Gamay we have made to date! The terroir of this vineyard is new to this wine but not new to Leaning Post. From the Four Mile Creek sub appellation where additional heat units are common provides a perfect spot for growing well constructed gamay with depth of character and complexity.
Nose: This wine shows loads of dried herbaceous notes, spice and leather, with intense blackberry, cherry and pepper on the nose.
Palate: The palate is complimentary showing mulberry, pomegranate, lilac, smoked sausage and fennel seed.
Finish:The finish is fantastically long and smooth. This wine will age well for the next 4-6 years.
Pairing: The best pairings for Natural Gamay include grilled salmon, roasted chicken or turkey, fennel sausages and pot roast.
